Bad Guy Mystery How to Win as the Bad Guy
The throw is weaker than a classic knife. Spacing and the Protector hunt are the real weapons.
Bad Guy is the loud fantasy and the hardest card in this place. You must clear a lobby of up to 14 other players with a throwable that misses when you stand inside someone. Players who came from Murder Mystery 2 feel cheated. The review calls that difficulty out. This page tells you how to win anyway.
Throw from a step away
The stick, brick, egg, bread, teddy, pillow, duck, and fire extinguisher all share a habit: point-blank throws whiff. Step back until you see a gap, then throw through it. If your first hit fails, do not panic-spam in their chest. Strafe, reset the distance, throw again. The weapon tier list ranks cosmetics; none of them cancel this spacing rule.
Practice the gap in a quiet rematch. One clean mid-range hit is worth three cinematic slaps that do not register.
Mix, then isolate
You spawn as another face in a colorful map. Walk with the group for a few seconds. Do not equip and wind up in the open. Peel one player toward a prop, a stair, or the far side of the ice-cream energy the lobby promised. Isolated targets cannot be body-blocked by a Protector who is still pretending to be unarmed.
After the first slap, the lobby knows a Bad Guy exists. Speed up. The round checklist says your second job is finding the gun. A living Protector is the only person who can end you in one click.
Hunt the Protector on purpose
Watch for the player who never sprints with the pack, who checks corners with a raised camera, who refuses Candy. That is your shortlist. Force a reveal by threatening two Good Guys in their sightline. If they shoot and miss, they are yours. If they never shoot, they may be a careful Protector or a scared Good Guy. Either way, you now know who is paying attention.
Do not camp a dropped gun in the most obvious doorway unless you can see both approaches. Good Guys read the survival guide too.
Perks when you are the hunter
Sugar Rush closes gaps after a whiff. Peekaboo lets you vanish when the gun comes out. Snitch is the selfish pick: five seconds of wall vision to find the last Good Guys or the Protector hugging a prop. Buy order is in the perk planner. If you only own one perk, Peekaboo still saves more failed hunts than a speed boost you forget to click.
A shop item that claims extra Bad Guy chance is not a plan. Players report it feeling inconsistent. Play the card you get.
Dual Wield and other Robux bait
Dual Wield looks like a Bad Guy pass. It is a cosmetic extra at 44 Robux, not a damage mod. Double Candy at 174 Robux farms the economy, not the throw. Read gamepasses before you spend to “fix” a role that is supposed to be hard.
Scripts that promise kill-all and silent aim exist. They also break Roblox rules. The scripts hub is the honest feature list and the ban warning. Winning with a throw you practiced is the version of this guide that still works after a patch.
Tempo and the timer
You can play too slow. A timid Bad Guy lets the timer save Good Guys. You can play too fast. A loud Bad Guy dies to the first Protector who kept their gun down. Alternate: one clean isolate, one relocation, one Protector check. If the lobby is still full at one minute, stop posing and start throwing from gaps.
When you lose, note whether you died to a shot you never saw or to a throw that never landed. Those are different homework. Unseen shots mean you advertised yourself. Whiffs mean you stood too close. The how to play page is the shared ruleset; this page is the hunter’s homework.
Clear the lobby or do not. There is no half-win. Take the next card and throw from a step away again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why do my Bad Guy throws miss?
Close-up hitboxes are unforgiving. Step back and throw through a small gap instead of standing inside the target.
Should I kill the Protector first?
Once you have one isolate, yes. The gun is the only tool that ends you instantly.
Does Dual Wield make Bad Guy easier?
It changes how you look, not how the throw connects. Spacing still wins.
What perk should Bad Guys buy first?
Peekaboo if you only have one purchase. Add Snitch when you already own a panic button.
