Bad Guy Mystery How to Survive as a Good Guy
No gun, no throw, still a win condition if you refuse to feed the Bad Guy.
Most rounds you are a Good Guy. That is not a spectator role. The Bad Guy only wins if the unarmed majority lines up in hallways and packs. This page is the hide-and-listen plan so you last long enough for the Protector to take a clean shot or for the timer to save the lobby.
Leave spawn like you are already hunted
The first five seconds decide half of Good Guy deaths. Do not wait to see who sprints. Do not follow the largest clump. Break line of sight, then pick a second hiding layer: a corner plus a jump, a prop plus a side path, a high spot with an exit. The round checklist is the short version of this paragraph.
If you spawned next to someone who immediately equips a throw, you are already late. Cut away at an angle. Curiosity is how Good Guys volunteer.
Listen harder than you look
Eliminations leave no bodies. The slap is your map. A slap close to you means the Bad Guy is in your pocket and Peekaboo or a hard break is better than peeking. A slap far away means you stay put unless the Protector is calling people into a worse room. Visual confirmation is a luxury. Audio is the free tool.
Candy pickups jingle. That sound is useful for farming and dangerous while hiding. If you are being hunted, skip the candy pile. The candy guide can wait one rematch.
Packs are a trap
Three Good Guys in a doorway look like safety and play like a bowling lane. A brick or stick that finally connects will often clip more than one person when you share a hitbox. Spread just far enough that one throw cannot delete the group, but stay close enough that the Protector can see a chase. That spacing is the whole Good Guy skill ceiling.
If a stranger insists you “stay together,” leave. Teaming talk is loud. Movement is quiet.
When the gun drops
If the Protector is eliminated, the gun can become a second chance. Only pick it up if you can see a clear lane and you are willing to be the new target. A Good Guy who grabs the gun and panic-fires into a crowd hands the round away. If you are not ready, leave the gun and keep hiding. The Protector role page explains the same shot discipline from the other side.
Never pretend you had the gun the whole time. The Bad Guy is watching who suddenly changes posture.
Perks that keep you alive
Peekaboo is the Good Guy perk. Five seconds of invisibility is enough to break a chase if you turn a corner during the fade. Do not pop it in the open as a joke. Sugar Rush is the backup if you already own Peekaboo and you play wide maps. Snitch is a luxury for Good Guys; wall vision helps more when you are hunting, not hiding. The perk planner and perk tier list rank them with shop timing.
Dual Wield does nothing for you. You have no melee. Save Robux.
How to help without griefing the Protector
You can point, you can path toward a safe angle, and you can stop body-blocking the person with the gun. You cannot demand they shoot your suspect. False calls get Good Guys killed and Protectors blamed. If you are sure, create space so the Protector can see the throw animation. That animation is the only proof that matters.
If you are wrong, you still lived. Living is the assignment.
Losing well
Sometimes the Bad Guy is simply better. Do not teabag, do not spam the shop, and do not AFK the next lobby. Note how they threw: mid-range, after a slap, from behind a prop. That note is how you play Bad Guy later without learning the hard way.
Parents watching a child rage at “being useless” can point at this page: Good Guys win most rounds that the Protector finishes. Hiding is the job. The review is there if the slap sound is still too much for the account in the chair.
Survive the next card. Then rematch. That is the Good Guy loop.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What should a Good Guy do first?
Leave spawn, break line of sight, and listen for the slap. Do not follow the biggest group.
Should I pick up a dropped gun?

Which perk is best for Good Guys?
Peekaboo. Use it while turning a corner, not in the open.
How do Good Guys win the round?
By staying alive until the Protector hits the Bad Guy or the timer ends.
