How to Play Bad Guy Mystery
From the Roblox Play button to the first clean rematch, without mixing this place up with Murder Mystery 2.
Bad Guy Mystery is a live Roblox 1-vs-all round game. You join a lobby of up to 15 players, wait for a short countdown, and receive a hidden role. Most of you are Good Guys. One of you is the Protector with a gun. One of you is the Bad Guy with a throwable. The round ends when the Bad Guy is shot, when the Good Guys are gone, or when the timer saves the lobby. That is the whole skeleton. The rest of this page is how to stop dying in the first thirty seconds.
Join the correct place
Search Bad Guy Mystery or the older title MM2 KIDS. Confirm the creator is dyingblu and the description lists Good Guys, Protector, and Bad Guy. The official URL is on the links page. Copies reuse the thumbnail and will not share your Candy or gamepasses.
Press Play, land in the colorful lobby, and look for the swing, seesaw, and ice-cream van. That lobby is the tell. The playground map names the swing, seesaw, ice cream truck, and obstacle course so the first rematch is not a death tour. If you spawned in a dark mansion with a knife shop, you opened Murder Mystery 2 by mistake. The versus MM2 page lists the naming swap so you can explain it to a friend in one sentence.
Read the role card, then move
When the round starts, your screen tells you who you are. Do not announce it in chat. Do not stand still rereading it. The round checklist is the ten-second version of this paragraph:
- Good Guy: leave spawn, break line of sight, and listen. You have no weapon until a Protector drops the gun.
- Protector: get space, keep the gun hidden until you are sure, and do not chase the first person who sprints.
- Bad Guy: mix with the group, throw from a short gap, and hunt the Protector after the first slap.
Deep role pages live under Good Guy, Protector, and Bad Guy. Use those after this intro if you keep drawing the same card.
How a round is actually won
Good Guys win if the Protector lands the shot or if the timer expires with people still alive. The Bad Guy wins by eliminating everyone before that happens. There are no bodies. A player who gets hit flops and vanishes. The audio tell is a slap. If you hear it around a corner, do not sprint toward the sound unless you are the Protector with a plan. Good Guys who “investigate” the slap become the next target.
The Bad Guy weapon is not a clean knife. Sticks, bricks, eggs, and other throws miss more often at point-blank range than players expect. That is why the Bad Guy guide tells you to throw from a step away. Protector guns include party poppers, water pistols, and the rare Nerf Gun. Cosmetics do not change the rule: one wrong shot on a Good Guy can hand the round to the Bad Guy if the gun drops in a bad spot.
Candy, perks, and what to ignore on day one
You earn Candy by finishing rounds. Spend the first pile on Peekaboo unless you already know you main Bad Guy. The perk tier list and perk planner explain the 5-second invis, speed, and wall-vision buys. Dual Wield, Double Candy, and Lite are Robux passes listed on the gamepasses page. You do not need them to understand the loop.
Skip crate spam until you have one perk. Skip script ads until you have read the scripts hub. Skip code hunting if the Codes Hub is still empty. Day-one progress is role literacy, not inventory flex.
Controls in one paragraph
Move with the usual Roblox left stick or WASD. Jump to break sightlines. Interact with the shop in the lobby, not during a chase. Mobile players should lock the fire button location in their head before they draw Protector. The full table is on the controls page, including the fact that there is no separate “knife equip” because the Bad Guy throw is the role tool.
Common first-session mistakes
Standing in a pack as a Good Guy feels safe and is how one brick clears three people. Tunneling the first sprinter as Protector is how you shoot a panicked Good Guy. Chasing from inside a player’s hitbox as Bad Guy is how throws whiff. Teaming in chat is how the lobby reports you. Play the role you were given, rematch, and use the review if you are deciding whether the game fits a younger account.
Once the skeleton is comfortable, stop rereading this page. Open the role tutorial that matches the card in your hand and play three rounds with one goal only. That is how to play Bad Guy Mystery after the novelty wears off.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I start Bad Guy Mystery?
Open the dyingblu place on Roblox, press Play, wait in the lobby, and read the role card when the round begins.
What are the three roles?
Good Guys hide and survive, the Protector shoots the Bad Guy, and the Bad Guy eliminates everyone else.
Can I choose my role?
No. The server assigns roles at random each round. Shop items that claim extra Bad Guy chance are not reliable.
Is this the same as MM2 KIDS?
It is the same experience after a rename. Search either title, then confirm dyingblu before you join.
